With the election now behind us, it now falls upon us to see
what the results of the 2008 election will be. We have heard the mantra, repeated frequently, that “change
is coming.” However, does anyone
really think that with a new democratic administration, congress, and senate
that anything will really change? Does
anyone think if the Republicans had won that anything would really change? Each time that we elect either party we
simply get more of the same.
With this new “change” administration, one expects that we
will get more of the following:
1.
Enlarged Federal deficits (perhaps as much as a
trillion dollar federal deficit in fiscal year 2009)
2.
More nationalization of industry – see speaker
Pelosi’s comments on a bail out for the auto industry (gag)
3.
More foreign entanglement
4.
More party first, rather then republic first
5.
Larger federal programs
6.
More entitlement programs
This list could go on and on but I do not feel like
sickening you with additional details.
Some things that are different that we may in fact get are: card check,
the closing of Guantanamo bay, redistribution of wealth, nationalized
healthcare, and a second “stimulus package” – as if the failure of the first
one was not evidence enough that so called stimulus policies never work as
intended and only increase the federal debt.
As I have said in previous series and as I will say in
future series, the only way to take back our republic is to form our own party
that will service the republic’s interest, or take back one of the two parties
and make them serve our great Republic.
Until that happens we will continue to get more of the same.
At the current pace, one shudders to think of what the state
of our Republic will be if we continue on the present course. I can only hope and pray that I
do not live to see our Republic turned into a shadow of its former self.
